Description
Hyosung ATM Service Key Set (Bezel & Cassette)
Condition: New Configuration: 2-Key Set (1 Upper Cabinet Key, 1 Cash Cassette Key) Application: First Line Maintenance and Cash Replenishment
Technical Overview
This service key set comprises the two essential mechanical access tools required for the daily operation and maintenance of Nautilus Hyosung retail ATMs. By bundling the Bezel Key and the Cassette Key, this set provides complete access to both the service area (upper cabinet) and the currency storage medium (cash cassette).
These keys utilize standardized cut profiles established by Hyosung, ensuring broad compatibility across multiple generations of retail ATM models without the need for model-specific variations.
Component Breakdown and Functionality
1. Bezel (Fascia) Key
- Function: Operates the cam or plunge lock mechanism securing the upper cabinet (top hat) or front fascia.
- Operational Criticality: This key is the gateway for all First Line Maintenance (FLM) tasks. It allows the technician to unlatch the cabinet to access the mainboard, change receipt paper, clear printer jams, and service the card reader or keypad. Without this key, the ATM’s internal electronic components are inaccessible.
2. Cassette Key
- Function: Operates the locking cylinder on the lid of the removable cash cassette (currency canister).
- Operational Criticality: This key is strictly for cash management. It releases the internal latch of the cassette, allowing the lid to be opened for currency loading or the retrieval of rejected notes. It ensures the cassette remains secure during transport from the vehicle to the ATM vault.
Compatibility
This set is verified compatible with the lock cylinders used in the following Nautilus Hyosung ATM models:
- MB Series: MB1000, MB1500
- NH Series: NH1800, NH1800CE, NH1800SE, NH2700, NH5000
- Halo Series: Halo, Halo II
Note: These keys are designed for the standard retail configurations. They do not operate the vault door (safe), which requires a specific combination or high-security electronic lock interaction.
Service Recommendations
- Key Management: This set represents the “daily driver” toolkit for route runners and merchants. It is standard industry practice to keep these keys separated from the vault combination to maintain dual-control security protocols where applicable.
- Mechanical Handling:
- Bezel Locks: Often exposed to the public side of the fascia, these locks can accumulate dust. If the key resists, lubricate with dry graphite. Do not force the key, as the zinc die-cast lock bodies can seize.
- Cassette Locks: Ensure the key is fully inserted before rotating. Partial insertion while turning can damage the wafers inside the cylinder or stress the plastic housing of the cassette lid.
